shooting inside the bullet train?
Producer-director Dayal Padmanabhan's Circus is making news, both good and bad, ever since the film began. The recent controversy and accusations of plagiarism which led the KFCC to intervene and penalize him has not dampened Dayal's spirit. The director, who had earlier rented an entire train from the Sothern Railway for the shooting of his film, recently shot two songs in a bullet train in Austria.

Dayal had to pay a hefty fee and spent Rs. 55 lakhs for the 15 day shoot in Austria. Getting permission to shoot in the bullet train was difficult. First he approached the authorities through the Indian Embassy in Austria but when that did not work out, he directly approached the Austrian Embassy in India. The authorities agreed and quoted a steep fee. Dayal, who was ready pay any amount to get the permission, agreed. The crew stayed in Austria for 15 days to film two songs.

So, how was the experience shooting inside the bullet train? It was awesome, Dayal says. Since the train moves very fast, the shooting also had to be done quickly, but it was a truly pleasant experience, he explains.
